Marie Baird is a Scottish Contemporary Painter from Airdrie, Lanarkshire.
After successful careers in both the Public and Private Sector, an opportunity in 2015 allowed her to rekindle her love for painting that life and family commitments had put on the back burner for over 40 years.
In 2018, she completed a Diploma in Art at the Norfolk Painting School.
In 2019, her painting, ‘Bright New Day’, oil on canvas, from the series ‘When Words Are Not Enough’, was selected by the IEA Institute of East Anglian Artists Summer Exhibition.
Having lived and worked in the Far East and Europe, Marie is now based in Norfolk, England where she lives with her husband John and continues to paint in oils and mixed media from her Dereham studio.
Her works have been acquired by private collectors in the United States of America, Ireland and throughout the United Kingdom.
“For me painting, especially in oils, is all absorbing. I feel so fortunate to have this opportunity, with the support and encouragement of my family, to explore my passion through my work”.
